We tried to engage in polite conversation but the staff were only interested in us drinking our welcome drink quickly and moving us along even though we were the only guests checking in.

The breakfast buffet is delightful and the Shanghai theme goes really well with the location and BGK in general.

The only downsides we found were the prices of breakfast (we didn't think 350 baht was worth it) and the drinks in the bar downstairs (250 baht for a beer).

(They even gave me change for the taxi when we arrived!) Perhaps the only slight drawback was a faint smell of urine coming from the bathroom during the night.

Their main complaint with this room was privacy as the roll top bath is in the main open plan bedroom and the separate shower had clear glass doors.
