One was that it smelled of cigarette smoke, the other was that you had to wait at least 2 minutes for hot water to arrive from the tap or shower, and there were strange clicking sounds in different parts of the room all day long.

The hotel is towards Dubai Marina a bit far from downtown and airport but in Dubai you just need a taxi and you can do what you want.
