Beds291Strength

Loved the location, first of all, but the staff was friendly and helpful (Cane, especially), and the hotel was eclectic, room was comfy, bathroom was large, bed was great.

Tripadvisor, April 2026, rated 5/5 by this guest

Stunning rooms, comfortable beds.

Tripadvisor, April 2026, rated 5/5 by this guest

We had a King room with a "pullout" sofa bed which was actually just sheets placed on top of sofa cushions which was a little difficult for my daughter to sleep on.

Tripadvisor, July 2026, rated 5/5 by this guest

We had a room with a private balcony and a great view of the city.

Traveled with my friend, and we had a great time, and was well taken care of by the friendly staff, specifically Dovid, who helped us with our delivery food and enjoy a late check out.

Google, March 2026, rated 5/5 by this guest

The staff is so kind and always in point.

Tripadvisor, February 2026, rated 5/5 by this guest

Staff could care, as could the manager.

Quiet at night117Mostly good

So peaceful yet in a great part of the city!

Tripadvisor, March 2026, rated 5/5 by this guest

My room was one of the quietest rooms I've ever had in Lower Manhattan.

Google, June 2026, rated 5/5 by this guest

The owners and staff could not have been more friendly, helpful or responsive to our needs and have created a super warm and cheerful environment with quirky character in leafy walkable heart of the LES-noisy on weekend nights but otherwise quite restful.

Tripadvisor, October 2025, rated 5/5 by this guest
Room condition412Weak spot

It is an older building so do not expect perfection but do expect an authentic night in a cool hotel.

Google, September 2026, rated 5/5 by this guest

The building was built in the late 1800s, so some things feel very vintage, which can be a shock if you haven't stayed in an older building before.

Google, September 2026, rated 4/5 by this guest

The rooms are a decent size and well set up, fast internet, beds really comfortable, and very clean - as with anywhere there is always a bit of wear and tear on furniture (the only reason for the small mark down).

Google, December 2025, rated 5/5 by this guest

Too few mentions to judge: breakfast.

I think charging $100 for a 1 pm check out was a little ridiculous-- but other than that totally great for one night.

Google, October 2026, rated 4/5 by this guest

Charged me twice to have a late check out.

Google, April 2026, rated 1/5 by this guest
Complaints the hotel left unresolved9 of 2531 in 28 reviews

I left for the evening and returned to an equally cold room.

Google, February 2026, rated 1/5 by this guest

So I talked to the mgr of the hotel next morning who told me that they were lost and there was nothing they could do about it, rather unapologetically -- as if it were my fault.

Google, August 2025, rated 1/5 by this guest
Problems in the bathroom7 of 2531 in 36 reviews

However, the room did not feel completely clean but the plumbing did not work properly.

Tripadvisor, April 2026, rated 4/5 by this guest

Only complaint is that the shower did not have hot water.

Something broken in the room5 of 2531 in 51 reviews
A slow check-in5 of 2531 in 51 reviews

The room didn't have towels or a blow dryer and there is ZERO chance to get in your room before the 4pm check in time, unless you want to pay the early check in fee.

Tripadvisor, October 2026, rated 1/5 by this guest

The place appeared empty (and the doors were locked and no one at the front desk at 12:00 noon on a Saturday!

Only regret: the attached restaurant is inviting, but not open on Fridays or Saturdays.
